Sorry, we didn't take any pictures ourselves, but there are many at www.marathonfoto.com (Des Moines Marathon 2012, Bib #331).
My finish time was 4:41:32, not my best but that's ok. This was my 7th marathon and 3rd in Des Moines. I'm growing to enjoy the Des Moines marathon more and more for some reason. Maybe because it's so close to home.
The day started out pretty cool, but the last 6 miles were rather warm. But this made for a nice post race celebration with a couple beers and plenty of "free" food.

I honestly don't have a whole lot more. I'm tired of gatorade and GU. I just about gagged at the last water stop.
I really appreciate Kim and Landon coming out and cheering for dad. Too bad Landon fell asleep before the finish, he didn't get to finish cross the finish line this time.
I will say the more of these you do the easier it gets. I just need to learn not to start out so fast and save more for the middle and end. Looking forward to Disney in January.
