He DID It!!!

Yes, the confetti is flying at the finish line of the 2010 Walt Disneyworld Full Marathon. Our man Jerdee passed through the portals unseen by those of us who waited long after he finished...he suffered for 50 additonal minutes until he could finally make contact with us--we were still standing at the finish line waiting for him to come racing through. Missed him!!!
It was bitterfly cold and nothing much has changed temperature wise since then...we're talking 29 degrees and we tried to dress for the occasion.

We did manage to connect with him midway as he passed by Magic Kingdom's Castle. It had been a tough first five miles given the extremely long time he'd had to wait in the dark and low temperatures...we left our hotel at 4:00 a.m. (as instructed) and the race started at 5:40. Evidently, it takes a long time to get the 24,000 runners in place to begin the event.
But no complaints...it was what it was and when all was said and done at the finish line, Adam said, "This is the hardest thing I've ever done, including the kayak incident on the intracoastal waterway/Gulf of Mexico mixing bowl of currents."

So we're proud, proud, proud of his accomplishment and took time to do a couple photo ops with Disney characters before departing for the hotel where we're staying. We're warm and cozy, sleeping this afternoon until 7:00 p.m. when we rouse ourselves to attend the "After" party.

26.2 miles is quite a bar to reach and he did it in under 5 hours, his expected rate.

Well we are proud of you too. Sort of glad it is over so we don't have to worry about it anymore. We really didn't ever doubt you could do it though. Congratulations! Underwoods

PS your house is still standing and your cat is still eating.
