Pre-Halloween Trick or Treaters

In West Des Moines, Friday night is the night to prowl for Fun Size sweets. Hunter and Blake Skyped us to show their costumes so we could share in the fun. Yep. Hunter doesn't want the inconvenience of a mask--he's a Jedi Knight. Blake is ready to do The Scream but finds that the mask doesn't allow much availability for air...we'll wait to hear how he survived! Stay tuned...

Manager of Engineering

Dave finally makes a career move. After many years in operations he will be moving over to Engineering. He used to manage the folks that put the plane together. Now he manages the folks that figure out how to put the plane together. We wish him a lot of luck!

Now we get to say things to him like "Engineers have all the right angles" and "Engineers know the formula for success".

Hunter .....gets a Safety.

Runs...

Gets torn apart...

Reaches....
and pulls the flag for the sack. He also gets a Safety.

We know where the wild things are...

Every time we return to Florida, we cut our way through the jungle in the backyard. Sort of like machete work. Reciprocal saw, rakes, clippers, blower, and a vacuum get it back in shape. We'll post this view once we get back to garden livabililty.

It Runs in the Family

Blake and Adam chose to join in the fun of the Des Moines Marathon this weekend. Blake took to the streets of Des Moines in the DSM Marathon Kidstrong events on Saturday, running the 400 meter run down 3rd Street, ending at the Des Moines Science Center. While Adam took on the Des Moines Half Marathon, running it in 2:04:41, not quite cracking the 2 hour pace but he was still pretty happy.
Adam (off to the far left behind the guy in the vest) still smiling at the beginning of the race.

Adam (on the left) near the finish of the race. Still goin'

Blake finishing his race.

Here is Adam at the halfway mark waving at his nephews as they cheer him on.

The Willows are Freezing...

and so are we. It's time for our annual journey to the sun. We're finishing projects, packing suitcases, and enjoying our farewell dinners.

The weather has been grey and rainy for a few days after the snowfall but it's looking sunny for Adam's marathon run this coming weekend. We'll be watching for his report! We heard Blake is running the Kids' Marathon that day...running buddies.

Update From Mr. Moneybags

As of this date, Mr. Moneybags' project has grown to 22 pouches filled with coins from the countries marked on the tags. We could name them here but maybe this photo will suffice. Thanks, everyone, for your support.

Two questions for Great Aunt Linda: Can we assume that the coin with the mosque on it is from Turkey? We have what looks like Russian money marked with what seems like the Russian alphabet. Do we call the bag Russia or Kyrgasztan?
