Getting a Choco Taco

The ice cream truck visits our neighborhood on Wednesdays and Saturdays about sunset. The irresistible sounds of the tinkling old-timey organ brings us out of our houses in a twist of nostalgia. Our favorite is the Choco Taco, a delicious blend of ice cream and nuts inside a simple fold of a waffle cone circle. Wish our grandboys were here...

The Flash - by Hunter

The Flash is my new baseball team. I am #3. We are going to smash the other 9U teams at Holiday Park this spring.

So far our pre-season record is 1-0. Here I am in my new uniform.

Every Day at the Beach is Different...

You never know what the beach will be like until you get there. Today it's wild and windy, the waves downright seductive. We sat and ate our sandwiches on a high boardwalk bench while taking in the beach guests below. Check out this delighted little boy with his hands outstretched to the power of the wind. Surely, he's King of the Waves today. Nearby, a pre-teen scurries over the wet sand on his waterboard and a woman plows her netted shovel into the newly-arrived sands, hoping for sharks' teeth.

The last man on our kitchen project...

Gene Pollux turned up yesterday to do the Better Homes & Gardens KITCHEN & BATH MAKEOVERS photography of our new kitchen. Allen left the house for the day to read, walk, and, in general, stay out of the way. Around noon, he brought lunch from Nick's Cafe and we enjoyed watching Gene eat his pita sandwich in his lusty Dutch way. Adam, you'll remember Gene and his slurpy noodles in Sarasota five years ago. He's a fine conversationalist with international flavors, a total dining pleasure.

Happy St. Paddy's

To protect his precious pint on the bar counter while he goes to the buckets, a Dublin man scribbles a note and leaves it beside the glass: "I have spit in this pint."

When he returns to his drink he notices an addition to his note which reads: "So have I."
